Telephone Dialer

Within Evolution FMS Anywhere you will find buttons with telephone icons next to all telephone number fields.  The button works by sending the universal TEL: url parameter to the local device in order to initiate a telephone call.

  • Mobile telephone devices will recognise this command and will populate your telephone app with the number to dial.

  • Desktop computers will recognise the command and will use the default telephone application to initiate the call.  If you do not have a default telephone application then it will likely as you to install or select one.

Voice Over IP Handsets

If you have VOIP / SIP telephone handsets then its possible that they will support CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) commands.  If they do and you do not have an application to make telephone calls then you can install our VOIP Telephone Dialer Tool from the UPDATES page (Windows only).

Once installed you will need to carry out the below instructions to make the application active:

  • Click on your START menu and click on the application called “VOIP Telephone Dialer Integration”.

  • Choose your handset Manufacturer, enter the IP address of your handset (this must be a STATIC IP address) and enter the Admin password for the phone and click “Save changes”

  • Login to your telephones interface and enable the “Click to Dial Feature”. Please refer to your telephone manufacturer for instructions.

  • Go into Evolution FMS Anywhere and click on one of the telephone icons.  If asked to choose an application then you need to select the “VOIP Telephone Dialer Integration” application or BROWSE to C:\Program Files (x86)\Oak Technology\VOIP Phone Dialer Integrator and select the “Evolution FMS VOIP Integrator” exe file.

  • Your telephone should now dial the number that is sent from the system, whenever you press one of the telephone buttons.
