Evolution FMS 2018 – Upgrading from version 2012 to 2018

To upgrade from Evolution FMS Version 2012 to Version 2018 please follow these simple instructions:

On the computer which contains your 2012 data

  • Ensure that all users have closed the software and are not using it.
  • Take a backup copy of your Documents\FMS_Data folder.
  • Click here to download and upgrade the current SQLFMS to version 2012
  • Click here to download the components for Evolution FMS 2018.
  • Run these components (in this order): Report Viewer Support Module, Report Viewer (2012), Evolution FMS Application and accept the default prompts.
  • Run the Evolution FMS Data Files and Templates component and install it to your Documents\FMS_Data2018 folder
  • Launch the Evolution FMS 2018 – Configuration Tool and click on the SetACL button, followed by the Attach Database button
  • Copy the contents of the folder Documents\FMS_Data\Templates folder to Documents\FMS_Data2018\Templates folder and overwrite existing files.
  • Hold down the WINDOWS KEY on your keyboard and press the
    [R] key
  • In the RUN box which should have appeared, type cmd and press ENTER
  • In the COMMAND PROMPT box type each of these commands and press the ENTER key after each
  • c:
  • cd c:\program files (x86)\Oak Technology\EvolutionFMS
  • EvolutionFMS /convertfms
  • When you see the upgrade window tick the checkbox titled I confirm that I have taken a backup of my databases
  • Click the Migrate Data Now button and wait for the process to complete
  • Click the Update 2007 – 2018 Templates button and wait for the process to complete

The process is now complete and you should be able to use the 2018 version of the software.
To install a license and activate the software you should click File, Install License
